MOUNTAIN BIKING: Tequesquite Arroyo

← CA SANTA ANA RIVER A RIVERSIDE RD RIVERSIDE CA Single Tracks →

Description

This area has two "main" loops. You decide what type of ride you are looking for...The North Loop (On Central Ave.) starts as a step climb on both start/finishes. Both directions offer some quick technical section with some small steam crossings. This Northern Loops is only about 5 miles, but you'll spend about 70% climbing. <br />
The Southern Loop Ride (Off Sycamore Canyon) is a bit flatter and offers everything from some technical single track riding to "fire road" sections. There are several short, steep (10% grades) that will challenge you. There are several options to eek out your own loop. I start from behind the new Big 5 warehouse and stay on the east side of the Arroyo. You will have to exit the trail and ride to the "new" warehouse parking lot to pick up the Western Side of the trail. From there, there are many great single tracks and fire roads to keep you busy for a few hours exploring. Best I've found in Riverside...

Directions

There are two trail heads for this area. From the 215, you'll want to exit on Alesandro. Head West of the Fwy. to first light which is Sycamore Canyon Rd. Turn Right (Chevron on corner). There is a trail head which is now along a fence line to a new warehouse. Beware of where you park, I just received a $100 ticket for "Parking on an unpaved parcel"(?)...look around and you can park at one of the new warehouses... The second "Official" parking area is at the Northern end of the trails. Instead of exiting Alasandro, head to the 60 Fwy towards Riverside. Exit Central and head West. After the second light, you'll see a parking area on the left.
